Introduction
Reverse osmosis process in water treatment unit takes the advantage
of one kind of semi permeable spiral wound membranes, to separate
and remove dissolved solids, sediments, sand, organic, sub micron
colloidal matter and bacteria from water.
Water molecule permeates micropores of the membrane and is
gathering on the center to be delivered as purified water.
Impurities in water are concentrated in the reject stream and
flushed to drain. RO membrane removes 97-99% of total dissolved
solids (TDS) and 99% of organic, including pyrogens, and 99% of all
bacteria in feed water.
